Overview

Innovative and recovery-oriented behavioral healthcare organization seeks passionate, service-driven MA and MSW students seeking a rewarding internship experience during our July 2018 – June 2019 Year.  As a Trilogy Intern, you will have the opportunity to fulfill your field requirements in one of our teams with the purpose of facilitating the achievement of client wellness and autonomy through advocacy, assessment, planning, communication, education, resource management, and service facilitation.

 

 

Treatment Philosophy

 

Trilogy fully embraces a collaborative team approach to each client’s treatment in order to enhance our clients’ recovery from severe and persistent mental illness. Trilogy strongly believes that treatment services are more effective when provided in the client’s natural setting, hence, the majority of services are provided in the community. Trilogy takes a holistic approach to each client’s treatment and integrates all facets of our clients’ lives including mental/emotional health, physical health/wellness, employment and education, social and family relationships, substance use/abuse issues, and housing needs. Your year long experience will allow you to make a difference in the lives of our clients by helping clients discover their own unique self, purpose, community and wellness.

 

 

 

Regardless of your placement within our programs each intern will benefit from:

 

  • A thorough orientation to Trilogy and its clinical practice
  • Working with a multidisciplinary team
  • Group experiences – Psycho-education groups, therapy/process groups, expressive arts groups, health/wellness groups, symptom mgmt groups, DBT groups, Trauma groups, Substance Use groups, Vocational groups, Peer led Drop-in center groups
  •  Learning clinical documentation practices (writing treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries etc)
  • Interns can take up to 4 weeks off during placement (planned and unplanned absences).  Example)  if a student is here 3 days per week, they can take up to 12 days off 

Responsibilities

Trilogy will consider second year MA and MSW students for internships.

 

Only interns who can commit to 20-24 hours per week, three days a week for the course of the July 1, 2018 – July 30, 2019 school year placement will be considered for the Counseling Student Internship.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements for Student Interns

 

  • Candidates must be willing to commit to a full one year placement commencing July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019
  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in social service field or related area (Psychology, Social Work, Education, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Rehabilitation, Human Services etc).
  • Candidates must be able to be on site at Trilogy for 20-24 hours per week, Three days a week (M-F 8am-4:30pm are normal program hours). 
  • Candidates must be able to be on site at Trilogy Thursdays 8am-4:30pm to attend team meetings, group supervisions, and consultations.
  • Candidates must be willing to receive training and experience in multiple service modalities. 
  • Candidates must be interested in gaining experience working with adults who have severe mental illness, co-occurring mental illness/substance use disorders, and trauma related disorders.
  • Once contacted for an interview, Candidates must provide two letters of recommendation.
